Thought I'd get this forum started with an introduction for myself, as the editor of the site.
My name is Dan Cryer, I'm 23 and I live in Leeds in the UK. I've been interested in forums for about eight years now, just a little less time than I've been doing web development. I started out with a forum for a personal project running YaBB, followed by Snitz, then moved onto Ikonboard, and finally IPB. I've tried out just about every forum software out there at some point, but have stuck with IP.Board for most projects since I bought it at version 1.3.
My day job is working as a developer at a search marketing agency. It's primarily about building tools for, and maintaining, our huge (over 1tb) tracking database. Specialities as a result include fairly advanced knowledge of PHP and MySQL, plus a good knowledge of server management, SEO, memcached, beanstalkd, etc.
Outside of work I spend most weekends with my girlfriend, we've just got back from a brilliant (though freezing cold) weekend trip to Paris. I do a few personal projects, like this site, and I write a blog.
If you want to know anything more about me, please feel free to ask.
