One of the bigger concerns I see with a lot of vB customers switching over to IPB is leaving vBSEO behind. The results I have seen on my own sites since converting have all indicated losing vBSEO was really no loss at all. My traffic numbers have all improved, my keyword rankings have all improved, new registrations on one site have exploded and my revenue has significantly increased. Frankly I was worried about losing the vBSEO advantage, but the numbers I have been recording are all better than they were with vB/vBSEO.
Two months ago, I was hoping Crawlability would release an SEO script for IPB. Today, I realize it would be completely unnecessary.
The current price for a vB forum license is $195 and a vBSEO license is $149, for a total of $344. Why would anyone spend that much money when they can see better results by purchasing an IPB license, currently priced at $149.99? Better results for around 44% of the cost? Who needs a calculator to figure that one out?
Another recent vB/vBSEO to IPB convert posted his own findings in this blog post. And it is interesting reading, indeed!
Are there any others that have made this same switch? If so, what are your own results like?

I was so delighted when I saw that post come up. Someone needed to post just the facts to back up what we've been saying for months. It's all well and good for people to challenge assertions that IP.Board is great out of the box, but it's nearly impossible to argue otherwise when there are statistics to back it up.
That being said, suggestions are still absolutely welcome. The IPS team, and I, would love to learn more and find new methods we can take advantage of in IP.Board to help communities achieve better search rankings.

When I converted my first forum to IPB I had writing the article in mind. I saved data weekly and analyzed it as I went along. I had meant to write it sooner and then post follow ups. I never did until the day I saw the debate on Twitter about vbulletin/vbseo being so much better than IPB. I had known that was wrong. I was seeing a steady increase in traffic since the switch. I just had to write it to dispute what was being said. I will be updating it in another month with more stats.
